Fishermen of the Kandozi indigenous community living in the Abanico del Pastaza, a gigantic complex of 3.8 million hectares of wetlands in the Peruvian Amazon, have embraced new sustainable fishing techniques to stop the progressive deterioration that the Amazonian wetlands have been suffering due to destructive techniques such as trawling and dynamite or poison fishing.
