Picture dated December 15th shows the Red Arrows continuing their winter training in Lincolnshire.The Red Arrows were seen practising their iconic moves above their home base in Lincolnshire yesterday (Wed)Four of the aerial display team were seen rehearsing their aircraft formations over their RAF Scampton base. All 11 Red Arrows display pilots are fast jet pilots from front line Royal Air Force squadrons and once they have finished their three-year tour with the team, they return to their RAF duties.The team trains in the UK until mid-Spring when they move overseas to a location with more predictable, settled weather to maximise flying hours and perfect the display. The team is then assessed by senior Royal Air Force officers, with the aim of gaining Public Display Authority.If this is awarded, the SquadronÕs pilots change from green coveralls into their famous red flying suits and the ground crew are allowed to wear their royal blue display coveralls.The season then officially begins and public performances by the Red Arrows are permitted. Last season the Red Arrows carried out 37 public displays and 22 major flypasts.
