More than 29,000 food items witness price hike in Japan, Tokyo - 30 Jun 2023

Teikoku Databank, Japan's largest corporate database company, announced on 30 June 2023 that more than 29,000 food items have been raised in prices in 2023, surpassing the 25,768 items seen the previous year during a historic price hike. The consumer price index for Tokyo, released by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications on 30 June, was up 3.2 percent from the same month in 2022.
