Britain's Prime Minister Rishi Sunak on 20 September announced changes in the UK government's green commitments, including a delay of five years on a ban on the sale of new petrol and diesel cars, which will now come into force in 2035, instead of 2030. Proposals for things including car-pooling and taxes on meat will not go ahead alongside delays to phase out fossil fuel boilers. Sunak also reiterated his commitment to reaching net zero carbon emissions by 2050.
