Supporters of Palestine Demonstrate in Munich, Germany - 16 Dec 2023

More than two months after the terrorist attacks committed by Hamas in Israel, supporters of Palestine, Hamas, conspiracy theorists, so-called Tankies, and Islamist groups joined together to demonstrate at Munich's Koenigsplatz. The demos have been headed by the controversial Palaestina Spricht activist group who has been accused of rampant antisemitism and connections to Islamists, as well as Verfassungsschutz (German interior security services) monitored entities and allowing a hard Islamist and pro-Hamas course with significant influence from conspiracy extremist groups. Analysts also see the group as part of accelerationist and opportunistic efforts to delegitimize the German state with factions within wanting to establish a caliphate, tankie factions wanting to establish a communist state, and others wanting a rejection of Israel's right to exist and to defend itself. More recently a plot to commit terror attacks within Germany and the EU was foiled with analysts seeing a lack of legitimate condemnations by the pro-Palestinian groups.
