British athlete and adventurer Mark Beaumont arrives in Paris after cycling 29,000 kilometers (18,000 miles) around the world in a record-setting 79 days, in Paris, France, 18 September 2017. Beaumont set off from Paris on 02 July, and averaged 390 kilometer (240 miles) per day, cycling 16 hours a day as he cycled across Europe, Asia, Australia, New Zealand, and North America before reaching Paris in 79 days. His endeavour earned him the Guinness world record for fastest world circumnavigation by bicycle, and farthest distance cycled in one month.
