Some Palestinians use cooking oil instead of fuel to run their vehicles in Gaza - 24 Jan 2024

Most Petrol stations in Rafah have closed their doors since the conflict started due to the shortage in the fuel enterirng the Gaza Strip. As a result of that, many Palestinians are resorting to the usage of cooking oil instead of fuel to run their vehicles. On 24 January, in Rafah, one liter of cooking oil was paid in the street at 17 INS (about 4.3 Euros), while one liter of Diesel was availbe at 70'INS (about 14 Euros per. More than 25,600 Palestinians and at least 1,330 Israelis have been killed, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry and the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), since Hamas militants launched an attack against Israel from the Gaza Strip on 07 October 2023, and the Israeli operations in Gaza and the West Bank which followed it.
