Mt Marapi Cold Lava Flood Kills 37 People, West Sumatra, Indonesia - 12 May 2024
Footage of rain vibrations was recorded at the Batu Palano Volcanology Geological Disaster Mitigation Center Station (PVMBG) on May 12, 2024, at 8:35 pm. Cold lava flash floods hit the West Sumatra region on Saturday, May 11, 2024 evening, triggered by high-intensity rain in the upstream area of Mount Marapi, hitting four districts, namely Agam, Tanah Datar District, Padang Panjang District, and Padang Pariaman District. As of Sunday, May 12, 2024, at 9.00 pm, the total number of victims who died as a result of this disaster was 37 people.
