Traditional Pavli Fair is welcomed entertainment for struggling Thracian farmers, Kirklareli, Turkey - 10 Sep 2022

The traditional fair has a history of more than a century among the Thracian farmers in Turkey. It is held in fall when the farmers have harvested almost all of their products and gather here to celebrate and have some fun after the hard work. Facing an increasing inflation many farmers have already given up and stopped farming. According to Turkish Social Security Institution (SGK) data, the number of farmers has decreased by 55 percent in the last 10 years. The total debt of those who still do farming is estimated at three trillion Turkish liras (about 164.1 billion US dollars/ 164.6 billion euros)
