Dancers perform Buyung dance during the Seren Taun ceremony in Cisantana Village, Cigugur Village. The Seren Taun Traditional Ceremony is a form of thanksgiving for the Cigugur community, the majority of which work as farmers, for the blessings given by the Almighty and is celebrated every 22 Sunda Saka Raya. In the Seren Taun tradiitonal ceremony, Paddy is a symbol of prosperity and togetherness, especially for the community of Cigugur, Kuningan. Seren Taun Tradition has existed since ancient Sundanese times and was originally a symbol of homage to Nyi Pohaci Sanghyang Asri, the Goddess of Rice in ancient Sundanese belief. In ancient Sundanese mythology, Nyi Pohaci Sanghyang Asri is believed to be the goddess of fertility and prosperity.
