Discarded styrofoam boxes are piled up in a refuse station in Hong Kong, China, 28 April 2022. The styrofoam boxes, which are used to bring imported vegetables from China, have piled up on the city's streets and markets after mainland Chinese authorities refused to take them back due to Hong Kong's worsening Covid-19 crisis. The Hong Kong's Environmental Protection Department estimated that about 120,000 to 150,000 foam boxes were arriving daily from the mainland.
