Local Berlin historian claims to have discovered the last piece of the first Berlin Wall, Germany - 25 Jan 2018
Local historian Christian Bormann poses for a photo in front of the remains of a brick wall, which he claims to be the originally built Berlin Wall in the district of Pankow in Berlin, Germany, 25 January 2018. By his own account, Christian Borman, a local Berlin historian, who runs the blog 'pankowerchronik', claims, that the 80 meter long piece of brick wall is the last remaining piece of the original protective wall, that was built before a more sophisticated wall system was installed by the German Democratic Republic. Bormann discovered the existence of that piece of wall already in 1999 but was afraid to make it public, to avoid its destruction.
