Lee Ufan sculptures exposed at the Rijksmuseum Gardens, in Amsterdam, Netherlands - 31 May 2024
People are seen having fun next to one of the sculptures. For his first solo exhibition in the Netherlands, the Korean artist shows nine iconic works from the Relatum series, on which he has been continuously working since the 70s. The stone and metal sculptures enter into a dialogue with nature and the architecture of the museum building.
Lee Ufan (Korea 1936) works in Japan and France. In addition to sculptures, he also makes paintings and is a poet and philosopher. With these sculptures, Lee Ufan experiments with what he describes as 'Art of encounter'. The minimalist works offer a moment of peace.
