Geo Barents a Genova, sui sacchi bianchi 'Europe how many more?, Italy - 11 Jun 2024

Ha attraccato in porto a Genova la nave Geo Barents, la search & rescue vessel di Medici Senza Frontiere con a bordo 165 migranti salvati in area libica, 109 dei quali recuperati a bordo di un gommone e 37 da una barca in vetroresina. A bordo ci sono 33 minori di cui una trentina non accompagnati. Mentre viaggiava verso Genova, la nave ha recuperato in mare 11 cadaveri che sono stati poi trasbordati su una motovedetta della Guardia costiera vicino a Lampedusa..Completato l'attracco, sulla nave sono stati esposti alcuni sacchi bianchi per il recupero dei cadaveri con la scritta 'Europe how many more?' e i numeri da 1 a 11 in ricordo delle undici salme recuperate in mare. ANSA/LUCA ZENNARO ZENNARO .--- The Geo Barents ship, the search & rescue vessel of Msf, has docked in the port of Genoa with 165 migrants rescued in the Libyan area on board, 109 of whom were recovered on board a rubber dinghy and 37 from a fiberglass boat. There are 33 minors on board, around thirty of whom are unaccompanied. While traveling towards Genoa, the ship recovered 11 bodies at sea which were then transferred to a Coast Guard patrol boat near Lampedusa..Once docking was completed, some white bags for the recovery of corpses were displayed on the ship with the words 'Europe how many more?' and the numbers from 1 to 11 in memory of the eleven bodies recovered at sea.
