President Wickremesinghe announced that Sri Lanka has reached a final agreement with its official bilateral creditors, including Japan, India, France, and China, to restructure approximately 10 billion US dollars in bilateral debt. This agreement represents a significant step towards stabilizing the country's worst economic crisis in decades. In April 2022, Sri Lanka officially declared its inability to meet its debt obligations.
