Yulia Semynog walks past the remains of a Russian tank in the garden near her home at the village of Velyka Dymerka, Kyiv region, Ukraine, 05 July 2023 (issued 08 July 2023). Valeriy and Yulia Semynog, together with their three children, left their home when Russian troops arrived at Velyka Dymerka in March 2022. The family returned to their village only after Russian troops were pushed out from the Kyiv region in April 2022. They found their home destroyed along with the wreckage of a Russian tank in the garden. The locals planted flowers and vegetables between and around the wreckage of the tank. Velyka Dymerka as well as other towns and villages in the northern part of the Kyiv region, had become battlefields, heavily shelled, causing death and damage when Russian troops tried to reach the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv in February and March 2022.The war in Ukraine, marks on 08 July its 500th day. According to the UN more than 9000 civilians have been killed since the war started.
