On Saturday 1st October 2022, gas and electricity prices for householders are set to rise. Customers without a smart meter are being advised to take a meter reading on 30th September. There is still much confusion about what the energy price cap actually means and many people, especially the elderly, are now afraid to put their heating on for fear of getting huge bills this winter. Householders are however, set to get £400 discount on their next six bills under the Energy Bills Support Scheme in a bid to try to ease fuel poverty
