Polar bear with her cub, Churchill, Canada - Feb 2018
This cheeky polar bear sticks its tongue out at a photographer while her cub nestles into her. The cute moments of the mother and her cub were photographed in Churchill, Canada.
Dentist Liwen Tao, 64, from Florida, said, "During a polar bear exhibition, I got to see these special moments of cubs and mothers interacting. The mother was leading her cubs from the frozen subarctic to food sources around Hudson Bay and stopped for a rest on the way. During the rest stop while the cubs were sleeping, the mother stuck her tongue out to get some ice to keep herself cool."
"I spent nine days searching for a family to photograph, travelling over ice in a van in temperatures of down to -30 degrees Celsius."
