Acquit DeWitt Press Conference in Columbus, USA - 28 May 2021
Cynthia DeVese, DeWitt McDonald Jr.'s sister, addresses the press asking for her brother's release from prison. 'I think what people don't realize, that family, and I mean all of our family friends and community, we all take a hit when this happens,' said DeVese during the press conference.
Daryl E. Murphy of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) sits with family of DeWitt McDonald Jr. at a press conference in the King Arts Center to call for the immediate release of McDonald Jr. Murphy and McDonald Jr.'s family demanded the acquittal and immediate release of McDonald Jr. on the grounds that McDonald Jr. was wrongfully convicted, and that his prison time was unlawfully extended while he was in prison. If McDonald Jr.'s prison time had not been extended during McDonald Jr.'s incarceration McDonald Jr. would have been released in 2011.
