Afyonkarahisay, Turkey, June 1, 2024: The narrow face of the fine-grained Apameia Sarcophagus unearthed from the region by artists from Docimium, now known as Iscehisar, exhibited at the Afyonkarahisar Archaeological Museum, is decorated with the head of Medusa, a wreath and a poppy cocoon hanging from under the wreath. Afyonkarahisar Archeology Museum, where artifacts from the Old Bronze, Hittite, Phrygian, Lydian, Hellenistic, Roman and Byzantine periods are exhibited, sheds light on very important information about life, belief, production and trade from 3000 BC to the present day.
