The wave-submersion episode has been continuing since yesterday evening in the south and west of Reunion. The South-Southwest swell is currently reaching its peak, namely 6 meters on average between Pointe des Aigrettes and Pointe de la Table via Saint-Pierre, with peaks at more than 12m. The prefect who had activated the Operational Center in Prefecture (COP) in a reinforced watch position from 5 pm yesterday decided to switch it to an operational posture early this morning. Unfortunately, two victims are to be deplored this morning, one died and the other is in a state of absolute emergency. They were swept away by the waves at LÃEtang Salé, after crossing a perimeter prohibited by municipal decree.
