UN Security Council meeting on Maintenance of peace and security of Ukraine, New York, United States - 18 Jun 2024
Ambassador Sergiy Kyslytsya of Ukraine attends the Security Council  meeting on maintenance of peace and security of Ukraine at UN Headquarters in New York on June 18, 2024. At the top of the SC meeting Rosemary DiCarlo, Under-Secretary-General for Political and Peacebuilding Affairs briefed members on the High-Level Summit on Peace for Ukraine taking place on June 15-16 in Switzerland. The Russian Ambassador repeated the ultimatum issued by Russian President W. Putin, demanding Ukraine to surrender. The Ukrainian Ambassador in his speech compared that ultimatum with demands made by Hitler in 1938-1939, particularly the Munich Agreement. The Ukrainian Ambassador rightfully pointed out that that agreement eventually led to a devastating war on the European continent and the whole World, quoted Churchill, Roosevelt, Kennedy and reminded that neither Hitler nor Mussolini were among participants of peaceful conferences in Tehran and Yalta.
