On May 19, Khamenei addressed the congregation at his compound in Tehran following the downing of the Iranian president's helicopter. Ali Khamenei expressed concern and sympathy for the Iranian nation after the helicopter carrying President Ebrahim Raisi made a ''hard landing'' in a mountainous region in northwestern Iran. The aircraft's fate remains unknown, although officials have stated that they have made contact with two individuals on the flight.
