Thousands of people gathered in Warsawís historic Castle Square at the pro-EU rally organised by prime minister Donald Tusk and his party - the Civic Platform. Donald Tusk appealed to the Poles to vote in the upcoming election to the European Parliament and to support his pro-European team, in the interest of a safe future for generations to come. The colorful crowd with national white-and-red flags and EU flags, chanted ìDonald Tuskî to show support for his government that won power in the fall, following eight years of turbulent rule of a right-wing, EU-sceptic team. Tusk's rally also marked the 35th anniversary of the first partially free election in Poland after WWII, held on June 4, 1989.
