Springtime blessings in Suwon, Korea - 01 Feb 2024
Confucian scholars attach sheets of paper with springtime blessings written in Chinese characters to the gate of Suwon Hyanggyo, an educational institute of the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910), in the city of Suwon, South Korea, 01 February 2024, three days ahead of the day of "Ipchun," one of the 24 seasonal divisions of the calendar that marks the onset of spring. The banner on the right reads "Ipchun Daegil," meaning "Good luck on Ipchun," and the other one on the left reads "Geonyang Dagyeong," meaning "With signs of a positive spirit, your family is full of happiness."
