An entrance to the Soratte bunker in Sant'Oreste (Rome), Italy, 05 April 2022 (issued 06 April 2022). The Soratte bunker is a tunnel complex under Mount Soratte near Rome created in World War II as a bomb shelter and later partially converted into a fallout shelter during the Cold War. It is currently managed by an association of volunteers who have opened the area to the public and transformed the site, still partly unexplored, into a real historical museum, unique in Europe for the superimposition of the Cold War structures to those of the Second World War.
