How to slow videos down

  • In video editing software or apps, import your footage and add it to your timeline. Right-click on the clip and adjust the Speed or Duration of the clip. You can choose to either slow down or speed up your footage using these tools.

  • You can also apply a speed ramp effect to move from slow motion footage to normal speed, or vice versa.

  • If you notice choppy playback, make sure that the footage was captured at a frame rate over 50 frames-per-second for better results. Slowing down footage that was captured at only 24-30 fps can feel choppy or appear to stutter. The more frames per second, the more versatility you have to edit the footage.
