The Chinese Opera is a spectacle combining song, dance, acting, poetry and martial arts. The performers wear colorful costumes and elaborate make-up. The traditional Chinese Opera has been a part of Thai culture for centuries, with performances taking place on various occasion in the Chinese community. This year the Chinese Lunar New Year or Spring Festival falls on 28 January to mark the Year of the Rooster.
