Pair of chicks fight with each other before their parents come back with food, Dhaka, Bangladesh - 21 Aug 2023
FOOD FIGHT... A pair of chicks fight with each other before their parents come back with food. The pair of Lineated Barbet were seen tussling in a botanical garden in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
Mohammed Ali, 38, said, 'These Lineated Barbet chicks are native to Asia. The parents will randomly disappear seeking food for their chicks which leaves time for the chicks to fight with each other. Fights mostly occur when one baby is fed more than the other. The parents spend more and more time away so fighting becomes more common.'
'It took me 15 days to get these shots. The birds were skittish so I had to hide behind a large tree at a safe distance, using camouflage. I wait for this long because I wanted the specific fight between babies. My favourite thing about the shots is that I think the babies look like a love heart framed in their hole which reminds me of family love, even when we fight.'
om a safe distance. And using camouflage. During breeding season parents randomly go out for seeking food. And fed the babies. These days they are so busy by doing their job that time they didn't mind too much but the always aware of their surrounding situations.
