Charlie Dimmock officially opens a new Oriental Garden, Houghton Lodge Gardens, Hampshire, UK - 26 May 2023

Gardening expert Charlie Dimmock (pictured) officially opened a new Oriental Garden yesterday afternoon at Houghton Lodge Gardens, Hants. The former TV presenter, who appeared alongside Alan Titchmarsh and Tommy Walsh in the 90s hit show Garden Force cut a ribbon and said a few words alongside the owner of Houghton Lodge Gardens, Sophie Busk. Houghton Lodge Gardens celebrated it's 230th anniversary, yesterday, Thursday 25th May, with the opening of a new Oriental Garden where visitors can explore its cherry orchard, rose garden, Torii Arch, Moon Gate and Nikko Bridge. Houghton Lodge is a Grade II* listed 'Cottage Orn' surrounded by mature trees and lawns sweeping down to the banks of the famous River Test. The Moon Gate provides a doorway between the new oriental garden and the old eighteenth century garden leading visitors to the acer walk which takes you into the park.
