Scarcity of the new redisgned currency in major cities across Nigeria, Lagos - 03 Feb 2023

The currency redesign policy by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) aimed at checking counterfeiting and reducing the volume of money outside the banking system have come under public criticism, as the economy is cash crunched over the last week. The scarcity of the new redisgned currency have resulted in large crowds and long queues at cash points and banking halls in major cities across Nigeria.
