Archaeologists in Brazil collect samples in torture center used during country's dictatorship era, Sao Paulo - 09 Aug 2023
Andres Zarankin, an archaeologist of the Minas Gerais Federal University, collects samples in the DOI-Codi building, known during the Brazilian dictatorship (1964-1985) as the Detachment of Information Operations-Center of Internal Defense Operations, in Sao Paulo, Brazil, 09 August 2023 (issued 12 August 2023). Almost 40 years after the military dictatorship ended, a team of archaeologists and historians are researching to unearth objects or signals shedding light on the events that occurred during that period in these facilities.
