Warnings Of Its Potential Danger Should Have Preceeded The Craze: In Italy For Example A Young Girl Died When Her Klackers Hit Her Temple. Hundreds Of Children Were Treated For Broken Wrists And Bruising Caused By The Klackers And Leading Newspapers And Magazines Condemed The Craze. Now English Children Are Being Injured And Health Experts Yesterday Pointed To Four Main Hazards Of The Craze. Inferior Klackers Can Shatter Into Tiny Silvers-and Could Blind A Child. They Can Cause Severe Bruising And Minor Wrist And Finger Fractures. Children Can Be Hit In The Face In Crowded Playgrounds. Mr Malcolm Boggis Technical Officer Of The British Safety Council Described Klackers As 'one Of The Most Dangerous Toys To Come On The Market For A Long Time.' And Several Shops Are Refusing To Sell Them. Woolworths Say: We Are Going To Leave Them Alone Now. In America Families Have Gradually Turned Against Them. In Bournemouth All Headmasters Have Been Asked To Ban The Toy Following A Check At A School By Health Education Officer Cyril Gumbly. He Said: ' There Were Lots Of Children With Arms Covered In Bruises Some Of The Toy Balls Were Chipped Meaning The Pieces Had Flown Off And Could Of Blinded Someone. They Are Also Very Heavy.
