Deputy Director of Office of Political Strategy and Outreach at the White House Natalie Montelongo (Back, R); Special Assistant to the President for Gender Policy and Senior Advisor for Gender-based Violence Rosie Hidalgo (R); Director of Political Strategy and Outreach at the White House Emmy Ruiz (Bottom, C); and White House Director of Hispanic Media Luisana Perez (Bottom, L); participate in a news interview in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building on the White House complex in Washington, DC, USA, 14 October 2021 (issued 15 October 2021). In the Hispanic heritage month ending today 15th of October, Hispanic officials of the US Administration highlight in an interview with EFE-EPA their own experiences at the time of dealing with the challenges and taking part in debates dominated by white males for years. These experiences together with the fact that 60 percent of employees at the White House are women and 44 percent belong to minorities have helped put care at the top of president Joe Biden's political agenda. The President's social spending plan that guarantees 12 weeks of paid family leave -currently in the hands of the US Congress- makes part of this agenda.
