Portwest Launches New Campaign With Connacht Rugby - 20 Nov 2019

Portwest, in partnership with Connacht Rugby, has launched a new road safety for all campaign, Be Bright on Safety, which also aims to set a new World Record. The World Record it aims to break is for the most people wearing high visibility vests, which will also highlight the importance and responsibility of all road users when it comes to safety this winter. The World Record attempt will take place at The Sportground on College Road, Galway, where Connacht Rugby take on Munster on Saturday 21st December in the Guinness Pro14 Championship. We want to use the record-breaking attempt as a fun and engaging way to get this across to people while also getting them involved in something very special". Commenting on the initiative, Partnerships Manager at Connacht Rugby, Gavin Duffy said: "We are delighted to be a part of the campaign and I've no doubt that our supporters will fully get behind the record attempt as well given how important it is to continue to raise awareness for road safety. Saturday, 21st December is the shortest day of the year so it's quite apt that we're able to attempt the world record at the game. Given the amount of people travelling over Christmas, it's also an opportune time to highlight road safety to all". Details of how people can take part in the World Record attempt will be announced closer to the match day but it is expected that anyone atten
