Post Office Scandal Compensation, Fujitsu Horizon Software, Harefield, London Borough of Hillingdon, UK - 25 Jan 2024
A Post Office in Harefield in the London Borough of Hillingdon. Between the years of 1999 and 2015, the Post Office prosecuted hundreds of sub-postmasters and postmistresses based on Fujitsu's faulty Horizon IT system. A number of them wrongly spent time in prison for committing fraud. The European CEO of Fujitsu in Europe, Paul Patterson, has said the firm has a "moral obligation" to contribute to a redress scheme for Post Office victims and he has apologised for the company's role in "this appalling miscarriage of justice"
