A Post Office in London, Britain, 08 January 2024. The UK government is under growing pressure to clear the names of hundreds of convicted sub postmasters caught up in Post Office scandal. More than 700 sub-postmasters were convicted between 1999 and 2015 after Horizon, a faulty Fujitsu accounting system, made it seem as though money was missing from their businesses. The UK government is considering having the Crown Prosecution Service and its own lawyers to step in as appeals continue to be heard.
