A view of Nowshahr port in Mazandaran province, northern Iran. Nowshahr Port is located on the southern coast of the Caspian Sea, 194 km north of Tehran and 200 km from Sari, the capital of Mazandaran Province. It is a multipurpose port that includes the Khazar Special Economic Zone. Imports at the port include chemicals, steel, metals, spare parts, oil products, construction materials, and timber. On the other hand, the port exports fruit, vegetables, nuts, dairy products, and minerals. The port handles approximately 1,500,000 tons of cargo annually. The maximum size of ships allowed at the port is Max LOA 150, with a draught of 5.0m and 5,000DWT.
