Visitors arrive to watch the launch of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO)'s ADITYA L-1, on board the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) -C57, at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) in Sriharikota, in the Southern state of Andhra Pradesh, India, 02 September 2023. India's national space agency Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) launched the Aditya Lagrange Point (L1), its first mission dedicated to studying the Sun at 11:50 AM IST at the spaceport in Sriharikota, after its successful landing of the Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft on the lunar south pole. The ADITYA L-1 is planned to be placed in a halo orbit around the Lagrange point 1 (L1) of the Sun-Earth line, which is about 1.5 million km (930,000 miles) away from Earth in the direction of the Sun.
