Magenta

Magenta is an intense reddish-purple that, interestingly, does not actually exist on the light spectrum, which includes red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and violet, and is considered an “extra-special” color. And, while most people are likely to encounter magenta in print and web design, it’s also found in nature, notably in flowers. Which makes it the perfect garden accent. Add this shade in the form of dianthus, hibiscus, azalea, or the ever-fetching variegated tulip. Line a pathway in this shade coupled with tropical ferns and elephant ears for eye-catching effect. Fun fact: Pantone named this dashing shade—Viva Magenta—Color of the Year in 2023. Which makes it’s an absolute must for home decor. Royal-up any study with bookshelves and wall paint in this striking hue. Add lavender couches, chairs, and curtains for a monochromatic dream. Or, paint an entire room teal blue and incorporate accents of this color in the form of artwork, chairs, couches, and a vase of magenta-colored flowers. Throw in a gold-colored coffee table, end tables, and lamps for that majestic finishing touch.
